Kiev Zhuliany (IEV) International Airport is one of
the two passenger airports from Kiev, the capital of
Ukraine. The airport is situated in Zhuliany
neighbourhood, in the southern part of capital, but it
is not the main airport of Kiev being smaller than the
second airport, Kiev Borispol International Airport.
After the beginning of Kiev Borispol International
Airport’s construction, the first airport of Kiev is
named Kiev Zhuliany (IEV) International Airport.
During the history of Ukraine, the airport served only
for domestic flights, but once the independence of
country was obtained, the airport begins to serve also
for the flights from nearby countries. The fact that the
airport is located in a region which is surrounded by
residential districts, railways and highways is the
principal cause of the impossibility of the airport’s
improvement and expansion. But, there are plans for the
airport’s restoration and extension which are expected
to be implemented until 2020.
Kiev Zhuliany (IEV) International Airport is older than
Kiev Borispol International Airport and is a good
airport for low cost companies. The airport provides
